Some of the more common symptoms of anxiety
Symptoms of anxiety are very diverse because levels of anxiety can range from major panic attacks down to withdrawal from favorite foods. We all know the feeling of complete panic when we got lost as a little child or lost our child as a parent. Our mind was racing, we felt sick in the stomach and our breathing became tight. These are the well-known major signs of panic anxiety. There are much milder forms of anxiety symptoms such as those produced by the withdrawal of a favorite food, or caffeine or nicotine. We may get headaches, become irritable feel muscle twitches and have difficulty thinking clearly or concentrating under those conditions. Only a specialist who works with anxiety patients would be able to tell if a person's symptoms are due to anxiety and what type of anxiety it is. Often this is after other medical tests have been performed to rule out another physical problem. You may have a better idea yourself sometimes because you know what is normal for you and you know what intensity your feelings are compared to normal. However if you have been under stress for a while you may not notice the symptoms of anxiety as they slowly creep into your system. You may just fight them off and continue working. It is therefore unwise to diagnose yourself and difficult for anyone other than a professional in this field to diagnose your anxiety.
