When you alter you level of confidence by using the patting technique you will be making some changes to your body. In fact it is used specifically for that purpose for healing. However for some people who have deep psychological problems or have suffered severe trauma that may not be completely resolved it may cause more anxiety which should be relieved with more patting continuously without any particular thought. About 3% of the population are seriously, emotionally disturbed and this normally elegant and gentle process may remind them of a painful experience which can be upsetting.
